Insane youth arrested, kills 3

Chhindwara(MP), Jan 20 (UNI) A mentally challenged youth, who axed to death three villagers, including a woman, and injured seven at four villages in Chhindwara district yesterday, was arrested today, police said.

The youth, who was identified as Vijay, resident of Paradsinga village, 70 km from here, went berserk and attacked whoever came on his way with a sharp-edged 'Kulhadi' (axe).

Collector Arun Pandey announced an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000 each to the deceased's family members and Rs 10,000 each to seriously injured.

Agriculture Minister Choudhary Chandrabhan Singh visited the affected families.
