Film critic 'Kozhikkodan' passes away

Kozhikode, Jan 20 (UNI) Noted Malayalam film critic Appukkuttan Nair alias 'Kozhikkodan' died of old-age related illness at a private hospital here today.

He was 80 and is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.

Kozhikokkodan, who also wrote many books, had won Kerala Sahitya Academy Award and Film Critics Award in recognition to his contributions to these fields.

His funeral will be held at Puthiyapalam crematorium here tomorrow, family sources said.
