Centre allocates 3,000 MT additional wheat to HP

Shimla, Jan 20 (UNI) The Centre has allocated additional 3,000 metric tonnes (MT) of wheat to Himachal Pradesh for two months under the public distribution system, State Civil Supply and Consumer Affairs Minister Singhi Ram today said.

The additional wheat would be made available to the state for the months of January and February only and would be in addition to 10,248 MT wheat being provided to the state, he said in a statement here.

Mr Ram said the additional quota of wheat would be provided to the consumers on ration cards and as per the fixed norms.

The additional quota of wheat would be helpful to the consumers residing in the far-flung tribal areas of the state, he added.
