Cabinet meeting to review SEZ policy: Dasmunsi

Nandigram, Jan 20 (UNI) Union Minister P R Dasmunsi today said a Cabinet meeting on Monday would review the national policy regarding Special Economic Zone (SEZ).

Addressing the public here, he said UPA president Sonia Gandhi had already issued a guideline clarifying that SEZs should be raised ensuring that farm lands and peasants were not affected.

Mr Dasmunsi also warned that, '' If the fire lighted by Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee in Nandigram is not doused immediately, it may affect the forthcoming investments in the state. If the scenario prevails like this, then West Bengal will be at loss.'' He also demanded a CBI enquiry into the incidents in Nandigram, adding that the people were not against industrialisation if their land was not affected.

He also urged all the political parties to jointly protest against the government's land acquisition policy.

Mr Dasmunsi was accompanied by his wife and other party leaders.
