Bihar is changing fast : Kelly
Patna, Jan 20 (UNI) Director and Public Affairs Officer of the American Center in Kolkata, Douglas G Kelly today said Bihar was heading towards rapid development and urbanisation.
Mr Kelly, who was in the city today, told newspersons that under the new regime the state was changing fast and huge developmental activities were underway in the central parts of the capital city.
He further admitted that he was unable to comment on the development scenario in the state's rural areas as he had not visited them during his stay in the state.
'' Lot of shopping complexes and other business establishments that have come up recently in Patna points towards the development,'' Mr Kelly added.
Though he refused to make any statements on the present law and order situation, he lauded the efforts of Nitish Kumar government in improving the situation.
Citing the example of reduced crime rate in New York, Mr Kelly said New York had highest number of criminal cases 15 years ago but now it has plummeted due to the combination of demographic changes and stringent law enforcement.
