Assembly session to last till Jan 27
Chennai, Jan 20 (UNI) The opening session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly this year, which began today with the Governor's customary address, will last for five days.
Briefing reporters after the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting here, Speaker R Avudaiyappan said the House would make obituary references to the the death of former MLA Kavinilavu Dharmaraj on January 22.
Later, a motion of thanks to the Governor for his address to the House would be moved and a debate on the motion would commence.
The debate would continue for four days till January 27 when the Chief Minister would give his reply, he said.
Mr Avudaiyappan said the House would take a break on January 26 in view of the Republic Day.
No Bill would be taken up during the session, he added.
