4 persons arrested, 6.5 kg TNT explosive seized

Mumbai, Jan 20 (UNI) The city police today arrested four persons including a woman, who had come to the city to sell 6.5 kg of highly explosive TNT outside Andheri Railway station in the western suburbs.

Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Bipin Bihari told mediapersons here that four persons, including a woman, had stolen explosives in Nashik and then came here to sell it to a party.

However, they did not have any idea about the nature of the material.

The persons have been identified as Shakhubai Dinkar Gaikwad (45), Gautam Govind Talone (42), Deepak Nalavade (28) and Sanjay Pawar (27), all hailing from Nashik.

Mr Bihari said the arrested persons did not have any link to any terrorist group.

D N Nagar police had received tip-off that the persons would be coming to Andheri station to sell explosives to a party, and along with a team from the special branch, laid a trap at the spot, nabbing all the four at around 0030 hours today.
