TTD Chairman denies rumours on Sri Vari Jyothi

Tirupati, Jan 19 (UNI) TTD Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy has denied the rumours that Sri Vari Akanda Jyothi in the sanctum sanctrum of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala was dropped.

Talking to the mediapersons, Mr Reddy said the rumours were produced only to create panic among the people and devotees, by the vested interests.

Appealing to the devotees not to trust the rumours, he said Sri Vari Jyothi was normal and all poojas were going on as ususal.

Meanwhile, devotees from various parts of the state had started breaking coconuts for welfare of their sons, as some of the people spread rumours that people should break coconuts for welfare of their sons.

In the meantime, coconut vendors had a brisk business and in some parts of the state the coconut was sold at Rs 40 each.
