Truck mows down youth following altercation over donation

Chatra, Jharkhand, Jan 19 (UNI) A truck ran over and killed a youth following an altercation over donation for Mohharam on the Chatra-Gaya road in the district today.

Police said some youths from Ansar locality of the town stopped vehicles on the road and were collecting donation for Moharram when a truck driver refused to give the demanded amount.

Soon an altercation broke out and the driver in a fit of rage and ran the truck over Saddam (13) who died on the spot. The driver sped away from the spot.

Locals protesting against the incident blocked the road. However, the situation was brought under control with interference from the administration.
