School closed down following vandalism
Kollam, Jan 19 (UNI) A school at Edavatoom near Kottarakara in this district of Kerala was closed down today for four days by the management, which alleged that local CPI(M) activists were causing trouble inside the campus.
The management of the KSM Vocational Higher Secondary School alleged that CPI(M) activists ransacked the school and attacked students two days ago. Pro-Marxist Students Federation of India (SFI) activists created trouble today also, it was charged.
They said the incident occurred as a sequel to the school principal approaching the State Women's Commission against her being ill treated by SFI activists.
It said though the Kerala High Court had directed the Kollam Superintendent of Police and others to provide adequate police protection to the school for smooth functioning, nothing was done.
