Pali among 22 critically polluted areas in country
Jodhpur, Jan 19 (UNI) Pali is one of the most critically polluted areas in the country and Central Pollution Control Board is preparing an action plan to reign in pollution from the textile units there.
Central Pollution Control Board Director T Venugopal who was here to attend a seminar said, ''Pali is among the 22 most pollutted areas in the country and the effluents from the cotton textile processing, dyeing and printing units have been found to be the main cause of pollution''.
He said it has been confirmed by studies in the area that Bandi river and the underground water in the area is being pollutted due to the effluent discharge from the cotton units. The Central Pollution Control Board has also included Pali in the 22 critically polluted areas. An action plan is being prepared to prevent water pollution in the areas.
