Orchid makes Rs 238.73 cr turnover, operating income in Q3

Chennai, Jan 19 (UNI) City-based pharma major Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals achieved turnover and operating income of Rs 238.73 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 compared to Rs 237.60 crore in the corresponding third quarter of the last fiscal.

The gross profit before interest, depreciation and tax stood at Rs 78.11 crore compared to Rs 69.76 crore, representing a growth of 12 per cent, a company release here said.

It said profit before tax was Rs 31.28 crore as compared to Rs 28.95 crore registered during the corresponding quarter of last fiscal. Net profit after tax stood at Rs 28.32 crore in comparison to Rs 28.96 crore of the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.

Earnings for the nine months ended December 31, 2006, Orchid's turnover and operating income for the nine months ended December 31, 2006 stood at Rs 686.17 crore as compared to Rs 647.18 crore registered during the corresponding period of the last fiscal.
