Navy Tableau: Year of 'Networking for Efficiency and Combat Power'
New Delhi, Jan 19 (UNI) A 144-member tableau of the Indian Navy, highlighting various facets of 'Network Centric Operations', will participate in this year's Republic Day Parade at the historic Rajpath here.
The message, during this year's Republic Day Parade, is that the present year for us is the year of 'Networking for Efficiency and Combat Power', said Navy's Assistant Chief Staff (Doctrine) Rear Admiral Pradeep Chauhan talking to mediapersons.
''The revolving globe in the centre of the tableau represents our quest for 'Maritime Domain Awareness' and the various platforms across it depict the Navy's interests and interactions with the world navies.'' The concept model of the Naval Communication Satellite, acting as its network enabler, and the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Ground Control Station indicate our surveillance efforts, he said.
''Models of our newer acquisitions of 'Talwar' ship, 'IL-38' aircraft and 'Scorpene' submarine, which form the Navy's punch, would also be displayed.'' The contingent would draw men from the various commands of the Navy and would be led by Platoon Commanders, he said adding that the renowned Naval Brass Band would this time be playing the 'Jai Bharati' tune.
