Narasimhan, Sankaranarayan appointed Governors
New Delhi, Jan 19 (UNI) Former Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief E S L Narasimhan was today appointed Governor of Chhattisgarh, while veteran Kerala Congress leader K Sankaranarayan is the new Governor of Nagaland.
Meghalaya Governor M M Jacob has been asked to hold additional charge as Arunachal Pradesh Governor during the leave period of Mr S K Singh, a Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said.
Mr Narasimhan retired as IB Chief last month, while Mr Sankaranarayan was Finance Minister in the A K Antony Government and Convenor of the UDF.
Mr Sankaranarayan will succeed Mr Shymal Dutta whose term expires on January 27.
The appointments come into effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.
