Mizoram banks equipped for fake notes' detection

Aizawl, Jan 19: Banks in Mizoram have made extra arrangements for checking notes at cash counters following major hauls of fake Indian currencies.

Bank officials said apart from giving out the genuine denominations received from RBI, all the cash counters have been equipped with thorough examination device.

Police said six persons have been arrested along with about ten lakh fake Indian currencies during anti-fake notes operation in Mizoram in the past one month.

''Most of the accused were from Southern Asom and Manipur and we can't rule out the possibility of involvement of anti-Indian forces behind influx of fake currencies'', said a senior police official.
