Metal prices show mixed trend
Mumbai, Jan 19 (UNI) Mixed prices showed a mixed trend here while there was a decline in the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous category, copper heavy dropped by Rs 200 per quintal on thin buying support. In the non-ferrous segment, on the other hand, aluminium ingot rose by Rs 50 per quintal on less stock supply.
Tin slab hiked by Rs five while nickel cathode declined by Rs 20 per kilogram on improved offers from stockists.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 30,300, copper utensils - Rs 29,000, brass utensils - Rs 22,800, brass cuttings - Rs 25,000 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,400.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 34,000, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,250, zinc slab - Rs 21,000, lead ingots - Rs 7,500, tin slab - Rs 605 (per kg) and nickel cathode - Rs 1,810 (per kg).
