LPG leakage from goods train

Rajgarh, Jan 19: A major accident was averted when leakage of LPG from the tanker of a goods train at the Guna-Maksi railway division was timely detected and controlled, police said today.

The tanker, contained gas from Pachor-based Gail Authority of India Limited (GAIL) near Guna district. The goods train was heading to Ujjain when the leakage started at around 1000 hrs yesterday.

On receiving information, GAIL engineers rushed to the spot and checked the leakage in nearly three hours.

As a precautionary measure, traffic was blocked at the Agra Mumbai National Highway, while nearby villages were alerted.

The train left for its destination at 1230 hrs. Rail traffic was not affected.

Gail officials were investigating into the incident.
