Koya's bail application dismised

Kochi, Jan 19 (UNI) A lower court here today dismissed the bail application of prime accused R O Koya in the arms seizure case.

Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate (Economic Offence) P S Nazir Ahmed who dismissed the bail application observed that if the accused was released on bail, it would hamper the ongoing investigation.

Koya was remanded in police custody yesterday till January 22 in connection with the illegal import of 49 air guns and 37 air pistols from Dubai through Cochin Port. The seizure was made on January nine.

Koya, who went missing after the seizure, surrendered before customs officials at Guruvayoor on January 13.
