Kalam postpones offical tour to Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad, Jan 19: President A P J Abdul Kalam has postponed his two-day official visit to Andhra Pradesh on receipt of information about yesterday's boat tragedy in Kurnool District in which over 60 people are feared killed.

According to an official release here today, Dr Kalam postponed his visit to Hyderabad, Mantrayalam and Kurnool scheduled for January 19 and 20.

Conveying deepest condolences to the bereaved families, the President said he decided to postpone the visit to enable the district administration to focus on relief operations.
