Jharkhand CM-led delegation calls on PM on delemitation issue
New Delhi, Jan 19 (UNI) An all-party delegation from Jharkhand led by Chief Minister Madhu Koda today called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh here and discussed the issue of delimitation of the electoral constituencies and its impact on the State.
Sources close to the Chief Minister said the delegation apprised Dr Singh that once the delimitation was carried out, then there would a large scale shift in the voters from one assembly constituency to another and the tribals would lose their political importance.
The sources said the State Government was trying its best so that the tribals were not be marginalised as Jharkhand was primarily a tribal State.
The delegation later presented their case before the DelImitation Commission, the sources added.
