ISO certificate for forest office and depot

Bhopal, Jan 19 (UNI) A forest office and a forest depot in Madhya Pradesh has been awarded ISO 9001: 2000 certificate.

The conservator of forest office in Jabalpur and Kalpi forest depot of Mandla forest (production) division were awarded the certificate.

According to an official release here, a forest office and a forest depot were given the ISO 9001: 2000 certificate for the first time in the country.

Forest Conservator (Production) G Krishnamurthy said intensive inspection was carried out by the BVQI company twice before awarding the certificate.

A manual had been prepared for the daily work carried out in the office and the depot and the certificate was issued for three years on the assurance that work was being carried out as per the manual.

Inspection would be carried out every year in this regard. A provision provides for cancellation the certificate if the prescribed process was not followed by the office and the depot.

Training had been imparted to the workers of depot and the office to work accordingly by the advisors of the company.

Forest Minister Himmat Kothari had termed the awarding of the certificate as a significant achievement for the department, the release added.
