New Delhi, Jan 19 (UNI) The condition of Manipuri Human Rights activist Irom Sharmila, who is on a hunger strike for the past six years for repeal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act in the state, has further deteriorated, her aide said today.

Mr K Onil, a human rights activist and Ms Sharmila's aide, said her health deteriorated under the arbitrary detention of Delhi police in Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.

''Irom Sharmila has been detained in two different hospitals-- AIIMS and RML-- in Delhi since October 7, 2006. She has lost 4 kgs since then and her current body weight is only 37 kg,'' he said.

''It is critical to note that during six years of detention in Manipur her weight had remained almost constant,'' he added.

Meanwhile, Ms Sharmila' brother Singhajit filed two applications in the Delhi High Court today.

The first application has urged the court to make RML a party to the case and also to handover all medical records to Ms Sharmila's family.

The second application seeks permission for MS Sharmila to attend a meeting in here.
