HRD manager to play an important role in future: Barwale

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jan 19 (UNI) The role of Human Resource Development (HRD) manager will become more important in the future as he will act as a partner in the strategic planning, business analyst and creator of innovation ideas, Noted industralist and Chairman of Mahyco Group Badrinarayan Barwale today said.

Inaugurating the two-day Western Regional Conference of National Institute of Personel Management (NIPM) here, Padmabhushan Awaredee, Mr Barwale, who was a pioneer in the country's seed industry, has pointed out that HR functions have undergone sweeping changes in the present age.

According to him, the situation has become dynamic and there are no permanent solutions to HR problems. He expected that the two-day conference would prove as an important step in providing brainstorming needed for HR professionals to meet challenges of new era.

The former national president of NIPM, D R Nagraj, was the guest of honour and delivered the keynote address of the conference hosted by Aurangabad chapter.

Mr Nagraj predicted a boom in job market in India in the near future and said ''developing and retaining talent would be the greatest problem in the near future.'' Mr Nagraj predicted that by 2015, India would require 50 million people for different jobs. The Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry would alone need five million people. In this scenario, it will become a challenge in the future.

The vice-president of NIPM Western Region, Shridhar Vyavahare, conference convener, Ram Marlapalle, chairman of Aurangabad chapter, B A Siddiqui were present on the occasion.
