Case against Congress MLA

Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Jan 19 (UNI) The Guntur city police today registered a case against Congress MLA D Mallikarjuna Rao allegedly for intimidating Guntur Zilla Parishad Congress Chairperson K Vijaya Dalit, at its General Body Meeting held on 26 December, 2006.

The complainant alleged that Mr Rao rushed to the podium and threateningly gesticulated at the chairperson and spoke ill of her.

The complaint was filed by a Dalit Women Organisation under section 506 (criminal intimidation) and Sec 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) of the IPC.
