B'lore gets new Appollo super speciality hospital

Bangalore, Jan 19: Appollo Hospitals, the largest healthcare service providers in Asia, today opened a 250-bed super speciality tertiary care facility in the city.

Hospital Chairman Pratap Reddy told reporters here that the new centre was aimed at providing best quality healthcare to the people of the city and its surrounding areas and would serve as a benchmark for quality in the healthcare system.

The supporting infrastructure at the new centre included state-of-the-art laboratory services and world class radiology department with high-end diagnostic equipment, he said.

The management proposed to increase the capacity of beds to 600 in the near future, Dr Reddy said, adding that it also planned to set up another 100-bed hospital near the international airport here.

He said the Appollo Group employed nearly 16,000 personnel across medical specialities, nursing, pharmaceutical and managerial staff.
