Apprentice teachers lay siege to directorate

Hyderabad, Jan 19 (UNI) Apprentice teachers today laid siege to the school education directorate under the auspices of the United Teachers Federation, demanding redressal of their gievances.

Police had to intervene as the agitating teachers did not allow the staff to enter the premises.

Police used mild force and removed the teachers from the entrance and arrested them.

The teachers were demanding regularisation of their services and sanction of promotion scales for those who completed two years of services.
