Another chilly weekend in store for Delhi
New Delhi, Jan 19 (UNI) A chilly weekend awaits Delhiites with the cold Northerly winds today continuing to send Delhiites "in a freeze", after a brief respite from the cold wave yesterday.
After an abatement of chill yesterday saw the mercury rise to one degree above normal at 7.7 degree Celsius, the minimum temperature today again fell sharply to 6.3 degrees, one degree below normal.
The maximum temperature was also recorded four degrees below normal at 24 degrees.
A slight fog was also witnessed in the morning though visibility levels remained normal at 800 m.
The coming days could witness an increase in intensity of the chill with the weatherman forecasting a drop in night temperatures by two to three degree due to the influence of a fresh Western disturbance.
Infact, the weatheran has forecast a drop in minimum temperature to 5 degree C tomorrow.
Also, according to the BBC weather forecast the mercury could drop to a low of four degree C on Sunday and three degree C on Monday.
The weather office has also forecast a return of foggy conditions in the capital from beginning of next week.
The Met office have forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with slight fog or mist likely in the morning.
Delhi has been experiencing cold wave conditions for the last two weeks with the minimum temperature hovering around the four Degree C mark and staying below normal levels.
