Aged woman raped and murdered in Punjab

Phagwara, Jan 19 (UNI) An aged woman was brutally murdered after being raped by a group of unidentified persons near Bhabhiana village last night.

Kapurthala SSP Rajiv Aheer alongwith ASP Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill rushed to the spot on receiving information of the crime today.

The victim whose husband had left her a few years back was working as a domestic help in the village.

The dead body was sent for postmortem to the civil hospital here.

A case has been registered in this connection.
