War like stores found in central Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 18: Security forces unearthed a hideout and recovered war-like stores in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, a police spokesman said.

He said security forces and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police launched a joint operation at village Surasyar in Badgam district yesterday after receiving a tip off that militants had dumped arms and ammunition there.

After a long search in the forest area, they were finally able to unearth the hideout deep in the woods.

The arms and ammunition recovered included about two of high quality explosive, 15500 rounds of ammunition, two electric detonators, three Remote Control Devices (RCD), three wireless sets and their antena.

However, no one was arrested as militants had managed to escape.
