Undertrial commits suicide in jail

Karnal, Jan 18 (UNI) An undertrial, accused of murdering his wife and son, committed suicide in the Karnal Jail last night, police said today.

Krishan (35) hanged himself with his shoulder cloth against the grill of the jail lavatory. The suicide came to light when another jail inmate went to the lavatory at about 0500 hrs, the police said.

Deceased Krishan, a resident of Manana village in Panipat district, was brought to the Karnal jail on November eight last on charges of murdering his wife and son.

His body was handed over to his relatives after autopsy.
