Shivraj Patil to visit Pondy

Puducherry, Jan 18 (UNI) Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil will visit the union territory on January 20.

Official sources here today said, Mr Patil will leave Chennai for Puducherry in a helicopter at 1030 hrs and arrive at Ouppalam helipad here at 1115 hrs.

He will visit Moorthikuppam and Veerampatinam fishermen hamlets by road where he would review tsunami rehabilitation programmes.

Mr Patil will return to the Rajnivas to attend a review meeting in which the Lt Governor, Chief Minister and senior officials would take part.

The Union Minister would also meet some important personalities at the Rajnivas before going back to Chennai by helicopter by 1500 hrs the same day.
