Reliance Industries Q3 net jumps to Rs 2,799 crore

Mumbai, Jan 18 (UNI) Mukesh Ambani group's flagship company Reliance Industries today posted a net profit of Rs 2,799 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs 1,776 crore in the comparable quarter last year.

Announcing the results, the Company informed BSE that the total income (net of excise) was Rs 26,514 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, while the same was Rs 18,348 crore for the corresponding quarter a year ago.

The figures for the corresponding periods of the previous year are not comparable in view of the planned shutdown of the refinery during October and November 2005, it said.
