Precious metals on the upswing

Mumbai, Jan 18 (UNI) Both the Precious metals were on the upswing on bullish global advices with Silver up by Rs 310 per kg and Gold shot up by Rs 135 per ten gms on reduced stock supply on the Bombay Bullion Exchange today.

Silver fineness opened high at Rs 19,395 per kg on fresh buying support and slightly improved and closed at Rs 19,415 with a massive gain of Rs 310 from yesterday's close.

In London, the white metal was quoted low at 12.82/12.87 per troy ounce against US 12.79/12.82 dollars per troy ounce in New York.

Similarly, standard Gold (99.5) opened high at Rs 9,100 on higher demand and closed at Rs 9,105 per ten gm with a huge gain of Rs 135 from its last close.

Pure gold (99.9) opened high at Rs 9,150 per ten gm and closed at Rs 9155 with a gain of Rs 135 from its previous close.

In London, the yellow metal fell at USD 630.80/633.00 per troy ounce as compared to USD 628.50/630.50 per troy ounce in New York on Wednesday.
