One lakh pilgrims take holy dip at Agni Theertham

Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, Jan 18 (UNI) More than one lakh pilgrims today took a holy dip at the ''Agni Theertham'' on the occasion of the auspicious 'Thai Amavasya' today in this ancient temple town.

Police had made elaborate security arrangements to tackle the crowd.

Several people also offered respects to their forefathers by peforming rituals.

After the holy dip, pilgrims visited the famous Sri Ramanathaswamy Temple for darshan.
