One killed, 40 injured in Annual Jallikkattu
Pudukkotai, Tamil Nadu, Jan 18 (UNI) One person was killed and about 40 others injured, three of them seriously in the Annual Jallikkattu (taming of bulls) event held at Maruttusolaganpati village here this evening.
The bull fight event was organised by the villagers as a part of the pongal festival. More than 300 bulls from various villages took part in it.
An unidentified person was killed while he attempted to tame a fiery bull. His body was taken to his native, without informing the police.
The injured persons were treated at the spot by a medical team, while three persons injured seriously were taken to the Government Medical College Hospital at Thanjavur.
