One injured in blast in Purulia

Purulia, Jan 18 (UNI) One person was injured when suspected Maoists exploded a bomb, attached to a tree at Barabazar in this district today.

The villager sustained critical injuries when he was trying to tear a poster bearing Maoist slogan, police added.

Police here said a red alert had been sounded in Maoist-dominated Bardwan, Jhalda, Jaipur, Boro, Kotshila and Bapabazar blocks of the district in view of the Republic day.

The injured had been hospitalised.
