Nepal beckons Indian tourists
Chennai, Jan 18 (UNI) Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) today launched a new promotion campaign of ''Visit Pokhara Year - 2007'' as part of its new brand ''Naturally Nepal - Once is not Enough.'' NTB Tourism Director Nandini Lahe-Thapa told reporters here the campaign was aimed at further increasing the number of Indian tourists visiting Nepal.
''Indian tourists accounted for 33 per cent growth in 2006 and considering this, the NTB has targeted to attract 35 per cent more tourists from India this year.'' This campaign would be a boost to the tourists, especially the religiously-inclined from South India who would be offered packages by travel agents from the region.
She said NTP would closely work with regional travel agents to penetrate new segments of the consumer market where the potential was huge.
