MYO issue eviction threat to Burmese migrants

Aizawl, Jan 18: The Mara (Mizo tribe) Youth Organization (MYO) has issued an eviction notice to the Burmese migrants in south Mizoram. They were asked to leave the state in the wake of a murder of a Mizo youth last month.

''A large number of the Myanmarese settled in southern part of the state are reportedly being displaced following the incident,'' said the Police sources.

Meanwhile, police had shifted the accused, who had murdered the Mizo youth, to Lunglei jail apprehending trouble in Saiha.

The Burmese migrants and locals in Saiha had a cordial relation prior to the murder, police added.
