Moderate quake hits Indonesia

New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) A moderate earthquake shook the Southern Sumatra islands in Indonesia today.

The quake, which measured 5.8 on the Richter scale, took place at 2057 hrs, India Meteorological Department said here.

It was epicentered 4.6 degrees South latitude and 101.5 degrees East longitude.

No casualties were reported.
