Minister gets bail in teachers' appointment case
Satna, MP, Jan 18 (UNI) A Sessions Court today granted bail to Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Water Resources and Animal Husbandry Jugal Kishore Bagri and local MP Ganesh Singh in a case relating to large-scale irregularities in appointment of teachers in this district in 1998.
Superintendent of Police (Lokayukta) D K Singh filed a chargesheet before Judge P S Kushwaha. The political leaders are among 13 accused.
In 1998, 128 Grade A and 215 Grade B teachers were selected. At that time, Mr Singh and Mr Bagri were zila panchayat members.
Subsequently, a case was registered by Rewa's Inspector (Lokayukta) J S Baghel under sections 13(1) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and other clauses.
Eleven of the accused secured bail earlier, but the political leaders failed to appear in the court previously. Even today, only Mr Singh was present.
