Metal prices ease on lack of fresh demand
Mumbai, Jan 18 (UNI) Metal prices eased on lack of fresh demand, as London Metal Exchange also declined, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said today.
In the ferrous category, Copper heavy and copper utensils slashed by Rs 500 each per quintal on increased offers by stockists.
In the non-ferrous segment, Copper wire bar and Zinc slab declined by Rs 200 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on thin buying support.
Tin slab and Nickel Cathode shot up by Rs five and Rs 65 per kg respectively on lesser stock supply.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 30,500, Copper utensils - Rs 29,000, Brass utensils - Rs 22,800, Brass cuttings - Rs 25,000 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,400.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 34,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, Zinc slab - Rs 21,000, Lead ingots - Rs 7,500, Tin slab - Rs 600 (per kg) and Nickel Cathode - Rs 1,830 (per kg).
