Patna, Jan 18 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today urged his ''friend turn foe'' Railway Minister Lalu Prasad to cooperate in the development of the state.

Mr Modi said Mr Prasad should exert pressure on the Centre for giving Bihar its due share.

Talking to newspersons, Mr Modi refused to comment on the statement of Mr Prasad, who had demanded his resignation, and said it would be improper for him to react before going through Mr Prasad's statement thoroughly.

Mr Modi clarified that he had never challenged the courage of Mr Prasad and said that a Union Minister had no right to review the department beyond his jurisdiction.

Lastly, Mr Modi challenged Mr Prasad to get the 890 Km long-road construction project for the state cleared by the Centre which was languishing at the end of Union government for the past one year.
