Kohima reels under severe cold wave
Kohima, Jan 18 (UNI) The city is reeling under severe cold wave for the past three days following heavy snowfall in Puliebadze range near here.
An ice cap had been formed on the mt Japfu peak of the range, sources said.
Official sources here today said the minimum temperature today is around 1.5 degree Celsius and maximum is 10.5 degree Celsius.
The inadequate power supply to this town has also added to the bitter cold conditions. The people here use charcoal fires to keep themselves warm at night.
The Pfutsero town under Phek district, the highest altitude town of the state, is almost covered by snow.
Almost all high altitude town of the state like Mokokchung, Zunheboto, Kiphire and Mon are also reeling under abnormal cold, sources said.
