Kangra gets central aid for rural employment scheme
New Delhi, Jan 18 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district today received Rs 1.54 crore as the second instalment of central assistance for the implementation of the Sampoorna Grameen Rozgar Yojana (SGRY) during 2006-07.
The Rural Development Ministry has already sanctioned Rs 259 crore as the first instalment under the scheme.
The grant is towards plan expenditure and will be used for approved items of works subject to the conditions laid down in the SGRY guidelines.
The expenditure on implementation of the programme with regard to cash component is to be shared on a 75:25 basis between the Centre and the State government, respectively.
