Gram pradhan, father murdered
Lucknow, Jan 18 (UNI) A gram pradhan and his father have been murdered under Sandila police station area of Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh.
The bullet-ridden bodies of Lulamau gram pradhan Horilal (35) and his father Nattha (70) were found near a 'nullah' in the forest.
On January 16, they were allegedly kidnapped by some influential persons in the village and later shot dead.
Prime accused Ajay Singh, Kishan Singh and Guddu are still at large, state home department special secretary Kamal Saxena said here this evening.
In last year's UP panchayat elections, the Lulamau gram pradhan seat was notified as reserved. Two rival groups of influential Rajputs had fielded their domestic helps in the polls.
Horilal had won the gram pradhan seat defeating the other Rajput group's candidate, Mr Saxena informed.
To avenge the same defeat, Horilal and his father were killed.
Investigations are on.
