French masseur creats sounds to cure human ailments

Ardh Kumbh Nagar, Jan 18: A lady masseur from France loitering around the Ardh Kumbh arena here is hogging the limelight for her ability to cure diverse human ailments by striking a musical harmony between cosmic and spiritual energy.

Using a slowly dwindling Tibetan art of cosmo-spiritual healing, Odile Hassonnaud is combining the seven primary colours with seven basic sounds of music to strike a harmony between cosmic energy and spiritual senses of patients to treat diverse ailments spanning from digestive disorders to cardiac diseases.

''It is the Tibetan therapy learnt over the last five years which has helped me cure diverse but common disorders beginning from obesity and digestive disorders and ending at cardiac and mental ailments,'' Odile claimed here today.

A patient is first allowed to stand bare footed on the floor and the masseur turned healer then asks the subject to close the eyes.

Once the eyes are closed Odile takes out a stick and hits a metallic bowl to creat seven basic sounds, each near the seven energy circles of the human body.

''The bowl is made out of seven basic metals which can attract energy from their respective planets. Spanning from gold which represents Sun to Copper which is associated with Venus, the shining metallic bowl not only trasnmits cosmic energy to the energy circles of the body, but also melds seven primary colours during the process to strike a harmony between cosmic energy and spiritual energy hidden in the deepest sense of the patient,'' she added.

The entire session which spans from five minutes to two hours, depending on the Degree of the problem, first expands the consciousness of the patient to the deepest possible level and then establishes a union between cosmic and spiritual energy to cure the ailment. ''The basic process is harmonising the seven basic sounds with different organs of the body and in the event striking a symbiotic relationship between cosmic energy and spiritual energy,'' she added.

The 'Bowl therapy' has been used to cure many ailments, especially lifestyle disorders and those arising from abnormalities of blood circulation. ''The therapy fixes you both with earth and sun, thus improving the blood circulation, malfunction of which leads to most of cardiac ailments,'' Odile maintained.

While she charges a hefty price of 40 euros for a two-hour session back in France, the Ardh Kumbh fiend from France is offering cure to one and all here free of cost. ''I am here to draw unrivalling spiritual pleasure from the largest religious congregation in the world, but at the same time want to alleviate the sufferings of those who cannot shell out money for cure of their ailments.'' And who are the latest patients being treated by Odile. The long list includes Swami Madhavanand Saraswati from the Juna Akhara to Sumitra an Ardh Kumbh devout to Mrityunjaya, a rickshaw puller driving the devouts to various routes on the fair arena.

The magic bowl is not the only therapeutic instrument that Odile possesses, but healing sticks of varied hues carried by the French woman also offers cure to many diseases, details of which she refuses to disclose.

The French bowl therepist wants to follow this exercise after the last 'shahi snan' at the Ardh Kumbh on January 23 with a workshop in the neighbouring religious hotspot, Varanasi and later Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh, Asom and finally Nepal.

Odile who claims to have learnt the cosmo-spiritual bowl healing from books is authoring a book on the therapy in French to be transiated in English later.
