Five LeT militants surrender after returning from PoK

Jammu, Jan 18 (UNI) Five Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants have surrendered after their entry from Pakistan occupied Kashmir PoK) at Keri sector in border district of Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir last evening, official sources said here today.

''The militants told us they had surrendered themselves before law because they were fed up with the militancy and most of the militants who are getting training in various camps in PoK also wanted to return the mainstream,'' a senior army official told UNI.

''We were alert about their movement but as they entered into Indian territory along the Line of Control at Bharat Gala in Peer Badesar area they surrendered without resistance,'' he added.

The surrendered militants also handed over five AK-47 rifles, five pistols, 21 magazines, 17 grenades, some wireless set and other explosive materials.

Sources said the identification of the surrendered militants, who laid down their arms before Army and police at Bharat Gala in Peer Badesar area, has not been disclosed due to some reason but all of them belong to Doda and Kishtwar areas.
