Srinagar, Jan 18 (UNI) Dukhatarn-e-Milat (DeM) chief Aasiya Indrabi along with her five other supporters were arrested for illegally raiding a cyber cafe in the downtown city this afternoon.

Official sources said Indrabi and her supporters today raided a cyber cafe in the down town Khanyar this afternoon.

They said police immediately swung into action and took into custody Aasiya and her five supporters.

Sources said the DeM activists alleged that the cyber cafe was being used for immoral activities. However, nothing was found there, they said.

This was the first raid by the DeM activists in the city after the high profile sex scandle rocked the Kashmir valley last year.

Two former ministers and a Border Security Force (BSF) senior officer and a top bureaucrat were among about a dozen persons arrested by the police in that racket in which the DeM played an important role.

The DeM also launched an unsuccessful campaign to force women to wear burqa in previous years.

Aasiya was arrested a number of times in the past for her separatist activities, forcing women to wear burqa and raiding hotels and other suspected areas in the city.
