Congress releases Report Card on five year's achievements

Dehra dun, Jan 18 (UNI) In the run up to the Uttarakhand Assembly election on February 21, the state Congress today released the ''Report Card'' of the achievements of the N D Tiwari Government in the state.

Releasing the Report Card, PCC Chief Harish Rawat said that the Congress Government had fulfilled its most of the promises made in its manifesto. Maintaining that the government, in its five year tenure had taken the state to the horizon of development, he said the state is now standing on the ''strong foundation of development and has created a new hope and faith for the people of Uttarakhand.'' Later speaking to mediapersons Rawat said that the final list of the Congress candidates for forthcoming polld would be released on January 22. ''Though no special formula has been chalked out to select the candidates, it was the prerogative of Selection Committee to select the candidates in accordance to the party he strategy,'' he said, adding that the electoral situation will, however, be taken into account while selecting the candidates. He disclosed that the High Command has expressed its contentment on the performance of the Government in the state. '' the public too has appreciated the Government's achievement,'' he claimed, adding that all the Congress MLAs had performed equally well and the party was sure to retain power with huge majority.

The Report Card was released at all the 70 constituencies in the state today as per the scheduled programmes which would be further taken to the public by the party workers in their respective areas.
