CM announces cash awards for state police team

Chennai, Jan 18 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today announced cash awards to members of the state police team, who won medals in the All India Police Meet.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the 50th All India Duty Meet here today, Mr Karunanidhi congratulated the Tamil Nadu police team for its best performance, winning eight gold, seven silver and three bronze medals in the All India Meet.

Conveying his special congratulations to the winners, the Chief Minister said he was happy to announce a cash prize of Rs 50,000 each for Gold medal winners, Rs 30,000 each for silver medalists and 20,000 for bronze medal winners.

Mr Karunanidhi also announced a cash award of Rs 1,000 each to 1,088 police personnel who had participated in the most enjoyable cultural programme in the duty meet. The Chief Minister also congratulated state Director General of Police and his colleagues for organising the mega event in a professional manner.
